Increase Your Finances

When I first moved to West Michigan 13 years ago, I knew my in-laws and that was about it. Here’s what I realized: you guys don’t move away! I remember talking with someone at a social event in Middleville and asking them if they were from around here. Their response was, “No. I’m actually from Hastings.” I laughed as I told them I was ACTUALLY not from around here and I was from Virginia.
As a true out of towner, I needed to gain street credibility in order to make meaningful connections in business. So after speaking with a business coach, he told me I should write a book. “Sure!” I told him sarcastically, “I’ll just write a book in my free time and get it published... No problem at all!” He encouraged me to give the process a go, so I begrudgingly submitted to his advice. I came up with a subject I was learning and wanted to learn more about and started writing an outline.
It has been 10 years since I wrote my first book, Quarterback the Sale, and what is crazy is that we still use it in our business today! What I didn’t realize when I started writing was all of the ancillary benefits I’d receive from submitting to the process of publishing a book.
When you write each chapter of a book, you’re forced to think deeply about that subject in a way you’ve never had the time to do before. I was forced to study, interview other professionals, and gather my own thoughts on the subject so that I could package it in a way that was cohesive and valuable to the reader.
This week, my book, Increase: An 8-Step Financial Path to Fuel the Life of Your Dreams, is out and available for sale! The past two years have been yet another learning experience as I have gathered, composed and even challenged my own thinking about money. I have researched and studied more than I ever have before on any subject, causing this process to be incredibly life giving and valuable to myself and my team at Trumble Agency.
As you get your copy of the book and begin to read the stories and principles I’ve compiled, I pray that you’ll learn time tested financial wisdom that surpasses anything I could have ever conjured up on my own.
Increase is unapologetically based on Biblical wisdom, a foundation I have sought to build from my entire life. As I studied and thought about finances, I was continually drawn to the Bible and the lessons God taught on money. The title itself is from the Parable of the Talents where Jesus taught about the necessity of multiplying the resources He has entrusted to us.
If you are a person of faith, I pray that you see the truth of God’s plan for your personal finances. If you are not a Christian, I hope you see time tested and proven financial principles that point you towards the life that is truly life.
Thank you in advance for purchasing a copy of Increase. Every purchase will help further this message of stewardship to our community and beyond. You can get your copy from The Wildwood Bookstore downtown Hastings or online on Amazon. If you choose to shop local at Wildwood, you’ll receive a copy of my children’s book, The Treehouse Dream, for free as a thank you!
